Spooky Skeleton Veggie Platter - featured image

A fun and festive Halloween-themed veggie platter shaped like a skeleton, perfect for parties and healthy snacking.

Ingredients

  • Carrots (whole or baby, peeled)
  • Cucumbers (sliced into thin rounds)
  • Celery (cut into sticks)
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Bell Peppers (red, yellow, orange, sliced into strips)
  • Cauliflower (small florets)
  • Broccoli (small florets)
  • Radishes (sliced)
  • Black olives
  • Ranch or hummus (for dip)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all vegetables thoroughly. Peel and slice carrots, cut cucumbers into rounds, and slice bell peppers into thin strips. Break cauliflower and broccoli into small florets, and slice radishes thinly.
  2. Place a large serving platter or board on the table. Start with the head of the skeleton by positioning the small bowl at the top center.
  3. Arrange cauliflower florets in a vertical line beneath the bowl to form the skeleton’s spine.
  4. Place bell pepper strips horizontally across the spine to mimic ribs. Use various colors for a bright and festive look.
  5. Use carrots for the arms and legs, arranging them in a fun pose. Use cucumber rounds as joints to connect the limbs.
  6. Arrange broccoli florets near the top and bottom of the spine to create hips and shoulders.
  7. Use radish slices for kneecaps or eyes, and black olives for spooky accents like the skeleton’s eyes or buttons.
  8. Scoop your ranch or hummus into the small bowl. If using a skull-shaped bowl, position it right above the spine to complete your skeleton’s head.
  9. Adjust any misplaced veggies and add extra small touches like a garnish of parsley or green onion for a spooky vibe.

Notes

Use fresh produce for the best results. Sketch out your skeleton design beforehand for easier assembly. Balance colors for a visually striking platter.
