A quick, easy, and nutritious smoothie bowl combining creamy peanut butter, ripe bananas, Greek yogurt, and protein powder for a satisfying breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • 3 tablespoons natural peanut butter (no added sugar or oils)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1 scoop (~30g) protein powder (vanilla whey or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) unsweetened almond milk (or oat milk for creamier texture)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • Fresh toppings: sliced banana, granola, peanut butter drizzle or chopped peanuts, fresh berries or shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: peel the bananas and slice one for topping; roughly chop any nuts if using. Measure out the peanut butter, Greek yogurt, protein powder, and other ingredients.
  2. Add ripe bananas (reserve a few slices for topping), peanut butter, Greek yogurt, protein powder, almond milk, cinnamon, and chia seeds into the blender jar.
  3. Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for about 1-2 minutes until smooth and silky without banana chunks. Add a splash more almond milk if too thick, but keep it thick enough for a bowl.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding honey or maple syrup if bananas aren’t fully ripe. Blend briefly again to mix.
  5. Pour the smoothie into wide serving bowls using a spatula.
  6. Add toppings creatively: arrange banana slices, granola, peanut butter drizzle, and berries or coconut.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Use overripe bananas with brown spots for best sweetness and creaminess. Natural, unsweetened peanut butter is preferred to avoid added sugars or oils. If using frozen bananas, cut into small chunks and add enough almond milk to help blending. Avoid overblending to prevent warming the bowl. Store smoothie base in fridge up to 24 hours; add toppings fresh. For dairy-free, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut or almond yogurt and use plant-based protein powder.
