A smoky, spicy, creamy dip made with smoked cream cheese, fresh jalapenos, and everything bagel seasoning, perfect for parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 medium jalapenos, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Take 16 oz (450 g) of full-fat cream cheese out of the fridge and let it soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Finely dice 2 medium jalapenos. Remove seeds if you prefer less heat. Set aside.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped jalapenos, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper. Mix with a spatula or wooden spoon until smooth and well incorporated (3-5 minutes).
  4. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Use mild wood chips like apple or hickory for balanced smoke flavor. If using a grill, set it up for indirect heat with wood chips in a smoker box or foil packet.
  5. Transfer the cream cheese mixture into a heatproof, shallow dish (such as a small cast iron skillet or ceramic bowl). Place the dish in the smoker and smoke for 45-60 minutes. Check occasionally; the dip should be warm and infused with smoke but not melted or runny.
  6. Remove the smoked cream cheese dip from the smoker. Sprinkle an extra tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning and chopped fresh chives or green onions on top for garnish.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh veggies.

Notes

If you don’t have a smoker, bake the dip at 300°F (150°C) for 20-25 minutes and add smoked paprika for smoky flavor. Keep smoker temperature low (around 225°F) to avoid melting the cream cheese. Stir the dip if it separates after smoking. Use mild wood chips like hickory or apple for best flavor. The dip can be made a day ahead and tastes even better after resting overnight.
