These Spooky Homemade Mummy Jalapeño Poppers are a fun and festive Halloween snack, combining cheesy, spicy goodness with a creative mummy design.

Ingredients

  • Fresh jalapeños
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Refrigerated crescent dough
  • Mini candy eyeballs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. (Tip: Wear gloves to avoid spicy fingers!)
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, pressing it down gently so it stays in place.
  5. Unroll the crescent dough and slice it into thin strips. Wrap the strips around each jalapeño to create a mummy effect, leaving gaps for the ‘eyes.’
  6. Place the mummy poppers on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Add candy eyeballs to each mummy using a small dab of cream cheese as ‘glue.’
  8. Serve warm and watch them disappear faster than ghosts at midnight!

Notes

[‘Choose firm, medium-sized jalapeños for the best results.’, ‘Don’t overfill the jalapeños to prevent the filling from oozing out while baking.’, ‘Wrap the crescent dough snugly to keep the filling secure.’, ‘For milder poppers, soak the jalapeños in cold water for 10 minutes to reduce the heat.’, ‘Use a tiny dab of cream cheese to stick the candy eyes securely on the mummies.’]
