A warm and aromatic drink perfect for autumn gatherings or cozy nights in, featuring apple cider infused with spices and citrus.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 12 oranges, sliced
  • 34 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 23 star anise (optional)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Slice the oranges into rounds and gather your spices (cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise).
  2. Pour the apple cider into the slow cooker. Add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  4. Cook on low for 3-4 hours, or high for 2 hours. Avoid boiling the cider to preserve its flavor.
  5. Give the cider a quick stir every hour to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  6. Ladle the warm cider into mugs, straining out the spices if desired. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or orange slice for presentation.

Notes

Avoid boiling the cider to prevent bitterness. Adjust sweetness based on the cider brand. Strain spices for a clear cider if preferred.
