A quick and easy appetizer featuring toasted baguette slices topped with creamy Brie, fresh strawberries, and a drizzle of honey. Perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fresh, crusty baguette
  • 8 ounces Brie cheese
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush each one with olive oil. Toast in the oven for 7-10 minutes or until golden and slightly crispy.
  4. Cut the Brie into thin slices that will fit nicely on the baguette rounds.
  5. Hull and slice the strawberries into thin pieces.
  6. Once the baguette slices have cooled slightly, layer each one with a slice of Brie and a couple of strawberry slices.
  7. Drizzle honey over the top of each crostini. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Add fresh basil leaves if desired.
  8. Arrange the crostini on a platter and serve immediately while the Brie is slightly warm.

Notes

[‘Toast the bread until golden and slightly crispy, but avoid over-toasting.’, ‘Use room-temperature Brie for easier slicing and better melting.’, ‘Choose ripe strawberries for optimal sweetness.’, ‘Warm the honey slightly for easier drizzling and enhanced flavor.’, “Place the Brie first to act as a ‘glue’ for the strawberries.”]
