A creamy, gooey brie cheese wrapped in golden puff pastry and topped with sweet fig jam, perfect for entertaining or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts, or fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Smooth it into a square large enough to wrap your brie.
  3. Place the brie wheel in the center of the pastry. Spread the fig jam evenly on top of the brie.
  4. Optional: Sprinkle chopped nuts or fresh thyme over the jam for added texture and flavor.
  5. Wrap the puff pastry around the brie, folding and pinching the edges to seal. Trim any excess pastry if needed.
  6. Brush the beaten egg over the pastry to give it a golden, shiny finish.
  7. Transfer the wrapped brie to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Seal the pastry tightly to prevent cheese leakage. Let the baked brie cool for a few minutes before serving to avoid spilling.
