American Flag Fruit Pizza - featured image

A vibrant and colorful dessert perfect for patriotic holidays or summer gatherings, featuring a sugar cookie crust, creamy frosting, and fresh fruit arranged in an American flag design.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 roll of refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • Optional: raspberries, blackberries, or bananas

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the sugar cookie dough onto a greased pizza pan or baking sheet, pressing it into a large circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Bake the crust for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let it cool completely before adding the frosting.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Set it aside.
  4. Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled cookie crust. Arrange the blueberries in the top left corner to mimic stars, and create stripes with the strawberry slices across the rest of the pizza.
  5. Optional: Add raspberries or blackberries for extra flair, or get creative with other fruits.
  6. Refrigerate the fruit pizza for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the frosting set and the flavors meld.

Notes

[‘Let the crust cool completely before frosting to prevent runny frosting.’, ‘Use fresh, ripe fruit for the best flavor and vibrant colors.’, ‘Don’t over-bake the cookie crust to keep it soft and chewy.’, ‘Prepare the fruit and frosting while the crust is baking to save time.’, ‘Chill the fruit pizza before serving for better texture and easier slicing.’]
