Spooky, cheesy, and just a little spicy—these Mummy Jalapeño Poppers are the ultimate Halloween party treat! They’re festive, flavorful, and guaranteed to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium-sized fresh jalapeños
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg whisked with 1 tablespoon water (egg wash)
  • Candy eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. (Wear gloves if you’re sensitive to the heat!)
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, chives, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them generously but not overflowing.
  5. Unroll the crescent dough and cut it into thin strips. Wrap the strips around each filled jalapeño to create a mummy effect, leaving a small gap for the ‘eyes.’
  6. Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet. Use a pastry brush to apply a light egg wash over the dough.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Add candy eyes to each mummy popper using a small dab of cream cheese as ‘glue.’
  9. Serve warm and enjoy your spooky, cheesy creation!

Notes

Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation. Cut crescent dough strips thin for a more defined mummy look. If the dough unravels during baking, gently press it back into place while warm.
