Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Roma tomato, diced small
  • 1 jalapeño, optional, finely chopped (remove seeds for less heat)
  • Salt to taste
  • Sliced black olives for monster eyes
  • Tortilla chips for serving and monster claws

Instructions

  1. Halve the avocados and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados to your desired consistency using a fork or potato masher.
  3. Add lime juice and stir to combine.
  4. Mix in minced garlic, chopped red onion, diced tomato, and jalapeño (if using). Sprinkle in salt and mix well.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño as needed.
  6. Smooth out the guacamole in a serving bowl. Add sliced black olives as monster eyes and stick tortilla chips into the sides as claws. Optionally, carve a spooky smile using tomato or jalapeño slices.
  7. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or veggie sticks.

Notes

Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning if making ahead. Add monster decorations right before serving for the freshest look.
