A creative twist on the classic green bean casserole, wrapped in crispy spring roll wrappers for a fun and indulgent appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup French fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 spring roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  2. Lay a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointing toward you. Keep a small bowl of water or egg wash nearby to seal the edges.
  3. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the green bean mixture onto the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with a dab of egg wash.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Test the oil with a small piece of wrapper—it should sizzle immediately.
  5. Carefully place the spring rolls into the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the rolls and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Let them cool slightly before serving. Pair with a dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

Cover spring roll wrappers with a damp cloth to prevent drying out. Don’t overcrowd the frying pan for even cooking. Experiment with dipping sauces like ranch, sriracha mayo, or cranberry sauce.
