Tender ham slow-cooked in a rich Dr Pepper glaze, served on fluffy slider buns for the ultimate crowd-pleaser. Perfect for game day or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs pre-cooked ham or small ham roast
  • 1 cup Dr Pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 slider buns
  • Pickles (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Place the ham into the slow cooker. Slice into smaller chunks if necessary.
  2. In a saucepan, combine Dr Pepper, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder. Simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Pour the glaze over the ham in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until the ham is tender and easily shredded.
  4. Shred the ham using two forks or tongs directly in the slow cooker. Stir to coat evenly with the glaze.
  5. Brush slider buns with melted butter and toast lightly in a skillet or oven until golden and warm.
  6. Fill each bun with a generous scoop of pulled ham. Add pickles if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Use pre-cooked ham for convenience. Toasting the buns adds flavor and prevents sogginess. Customize toppings with coleslaw, pickled onions, or jalapeños.
