  • 1 cup whole milk or almond milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • Caramel sauce, store-bought or homemade, for drizzling
  • Optional: Chopped pecans or walnuts for added crunch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Slice your apple cider donuts into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  4. Add the donut cubes to the bowl with the custard mixture. Gently fold to ensure each piece is coated. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes so the donuts can soak up the liquid.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. If you’re using nuts, sprinkle them evenly over the top for added texture.
