Fun Monster Mouth Apple Bites

Monster Mouth Apple Bites - featured image

Juicy apple slices transformed into goofy, spooky monster mouths—perfect for Halloween parties or a fun afternoon snack with the kids. These bites are adorable, easy to make, and loaded with wholesome ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Fresh apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter, or sunflower seed butter)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Candy eyes
  • Optional toppings: raisins, mini chocolate chips, sliced almonds
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the apples into wedges, about ¼-inch thick. You’ll need two wedges per monster mouth.
  2. Brush the apple slices lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning (optional).
  3. Spread a generous amount of nut butter across one side of an apple slice.
  4. Press mini marshmallows into the nut butter along the length of the apple slice to create ‘teeth.’
  5. Place a second apple slice on top, angled slightly to look like a gaping mouth.
  6. Use a dab of nut butter as ‘glue’ to stick the candy eyes onto the top apple slice.
  7. Sprinkle raisins, mini chocolate chips, or sliced almonds on the bite for unique monster personalities.

Notes

Granny Smith apples provide a tart flavor, while Honeycrisp or Fuji apples add sweetness. Encourage kids to design their own monsters for extra fun.
