Fresh Caprese Skewers Recipe with Perfect Balsamic Glaze

Caprese Skewers - featured image

A simple yet elegant appetizer featuring cherry tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, fresh basil, and a sweet balsamic glaze. Perfect for any occasion and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers or toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. If using larger mozzarella, cut it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Thread a cherry tomato, a basil leaf, and a mozzarella pearl onto each skewer. Repeat until the skewer is full, leaving a bit of space at the top and bottom.
  3. Drizzle the assembled skewers lightly with olive oil, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze. If making your own, reduce 1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar with 1 tablespoon of honey over low heat until thickened, then let cool before using.
  5. Arrange the skewers on a serving tray or platter. Garnish with extra basil leaves or a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
