Caprese Salad Hearts - featured image

A visually stunning and delicious dish featuring heart-shaped mozzarella and tomato slices, fresh basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze. Perfect for parties, romantic dinners, or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Fresh mozzarella (soft, fresh kind in ball or log shape)
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the mozzarella into slices about ¼ inch thick. Use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts from each slice. Set aside.
  2. Slice the Roma tomatoes into slices approximately ¼ inch thick. Use the same cookie cutter to cut heart shapes from the tomato slices.
  3. Lay fresh basil leaves on your serving platter as a base. Tear large leaves into smaller pieces if needed.
  4. Place one mozzarella heart on top of a tomato heart so they align perfectly. Arrange them on the basil bed.
  5. Lightly drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the hearts for richness.
  6. Drizzle balsamic glaze in a zigzag pattern over the hearts for a touch of sweetness.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and a crack of fresh black pepper over the top.
  8. Serve the platter and enjoy!
