A golden, crispy tater tot hotdish shaped like a Christmas tree, decorated with vibrant veggies and cheesy goodness. Perfect for holiday gatherings and sure to impress everyone at the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (cut into a star shape)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey, and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked meat, cream of mushroom soup, and frozen mixed vegetables. Stir until evenly coated.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the filling in the shape of a Christmas tree. Use a spatula to smooth the edges.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots in rows over the filling, covering the entire tree shape. Press them down gently to ensure they stick.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots and return the tray to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  8. Let the hotdish cool slightly. Arrange broccoli florets as ‘branches,’ cherry tomatoes as ‘ornaments,’ and a star-shaped piece of yellow bell pepper at the top.
  9. Slice into portions and serve warm.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcrowd the tater tots to ensure even crisping.’, ‘Blanch fresh vegetables for a brighter flavor.’, ‘Taste the filling before baking to ensure balanced seasoning.’, ‘Assemble the tree ahead of time and refrigerate, then bake before serving.’, ‘Use shredded mozzarella for a snow-like effect on the tree.’]
