A playful, pumpkin-shaped cheese ball that’s creamy, tangy, and perfect for fall gatherings. It’s easy to make and doubles as an edible centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 1 small bell pepper stem or celery stalk (for the pumpkin stem)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Scoop the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Gather the plastic wrap around the cheese mixture, forming it into a ball.
  3. Wrap kitchen twine or rubber bands around the cheese ball to create gentle indentations, mimicking the ridges of a pumpkin. Be careful not to press too hard—it’s all about subtle shaping.
  4. Chill the cheese ball in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until firm enough to handle.
  5. Remove the twine or rubber bands, then roll the cheese ball in crushed pretzels until evenly coated. Press gently to make sure the pretzels stick.
  6. Insert the bell pepper stem (or celery stalk) into the top center to complete the pumpkin look.
  7. Place the cheese ball on a serving platter and surround it with crackers, pretzels, or veggie sticks. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

[‘Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing and a smooth texture.’, ‘Chill the cheese ball properly to ensure it holds its shape.’, ‘Customize the coating with crushed nuts, breadcrumbs, or shredded cheese.’, ‘Taste and adjust the seasoning before chilling.’]
