These festive Christmas cookie dough truffles are bite-sized, indulgent treats that are safe to eat and easy to make, perfect for holiday gatherings or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (whole milk or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, heat-treated
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • Festive sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat-treat the flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking at 350°F (180°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the cooled flour to the butter mixture, stirring until a dough forms. The consistency should be soft but not sticky.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  6. Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the dough. Roll each portion into a ball and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Refrigerate the dough balls for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  9. Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each dough ball in melted chocolate. Place back on the parchment paper and add sprinkles immediately before the chocolate sets.
  10. Refrigerate the truffles for another 15 minutes to set the chocolate coating.
