These Easy Mummy Hot Dogs are a fun, festive, and tasty Halloween treat that’s quick to make and perfect for parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 regular-sized hot dogs
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent dough
  • Yellow mustard for eyes
  • Cooking spray or oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or oil.
  2. Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and separate it into rectangles. Press the seams together to form smooth sheets of dough.
  3. Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into thin strips, about ¼ inch wide.
  4. Take a hot dog and wrap the dough strips around it, leaving small gaps to mimic a mummy’s bandages. Leave a small space for the ‘face’ near one end of the hot dog.
  5. Repeat the wrapping process for all hot dogs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Optional: Brush the dough with a light coating of melted butter or egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove the hot dogs from the oven and let them cool slightly before adding the ‘eyes.’
  9. Using a small spoon or toothpick, carefully dab two small dots of mustard on each hot dog to create eyes.
  10. Serve your mummy hot dogs warm.

Notes

[‘If crescent dough tears while wrapping, pinch it back together—it’s forgiving and still bakes beautifully.’, ‘Rotate your baking sheet halfway through cooking for evenly golden mummies.’, ‘Uneven bandages give the mummies a more playful, authentic look.’, ‘Sprinkle dough strips with garlic powder or shredded cheese for extra flavor.’, ‘Freeze uncooked mummy hot dogs for future baking; bake straight from frozen with a few extra minutes added.’]
