Delicious Pickle Christmas Tree Appetizer Stack

pickle Christmas tree - featured image

A festive, visually stunning appetizer made with pickles, cheese, and crackers, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Dill pickles (medium-sized, whole)
  • Cream cheese (softened, flavored optional)
  • Cheddar cheese slices (cut into small triangles)
  • Cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • Fresh dill
  • Crispy crackers
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Slice the pickles into thick rings (about 1/4 inch each). Cut the cheddar cheese into small triangles, and halve the cherry tomatoes. Set aside softened cream cheese and fresh dill.
  2. Place the largest pickle slice on your serving platter as the base of the tree. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on top.
  3. Stack the pickle slices from largest to smallest, securing each layer with a toothpick. Add cream cheese between each layer to act as ‘glue’ and enhance the flavor.
  4. Insert small triangles of cheddar cheese between pickle layers. Use cherry tomatoes and fresh dill to mimic ornaments and greenery.
  5. Finish your tree with a star-shaped piece of cheese at the very top. You can use a small cookie cutter for this or cut it by hand.
  6. Arrange crackers around the base of the tree and serve immediately.

Notes

Use firm pickles for stability, soften cream cheese completely for easier spreading, and secure layers tightly with toothpicks or skewers.
