A rich, velvety chocolate fondue perfect for romantic evenings, paired with fruits, marshmallows, and other dippers for a cozy and indulgent dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (170g) dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
  • Fresh fruits (strawberries, banana slices, apple wedges, grapes)
  • Marshmallows
  • Pretzels
  • Pound cake or brownies (cut into bite-sized cubes)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup (170g) of dark chocolate chips, 1/2 cup (120ml) of heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon (15g) of unsalted butter.
  2. Place the saucepan over low heat and stir continuously until the chocolate chips melt completely and the mixture is smooth, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) of vanilla extract.
  4. Transfer the melted chocolate into a heatproof bowl or fondue pot. Keep the fondue warm using a tealight candle or low flame under the pot.
  5. Prepare your dippers: Wash and slice the fruits, cut pound cake or brownies into cubes, and arrange everything neatly on a serving platter.
  6. Dip your chosen items into the warm chocolate and enjoy!
  7. If the chocolate cools down too much, reheat it gently over low heat, being careful not to overheat to avoid seizing.

Notes

[‘Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.’, ‘Keep the heat low to avoid burning the chocolate.’, ‘Include a mix of sweet and salty dippers for variety.’, ‘Let fruits and baked goods come to room temperature before serving for better flavor and texture.’, ‘If the chocolate seizes, add a splash of warm milk and whisk gently to smooth it out.’]
