These festive treats combine the salty crunch of pretzels with a rich chocolate coating and colorful sprinkles. Quick to make and endlessly customizable, they’re perfect for parties, gifting, or a fun family snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups heart-shaped pretzels (about 150g)
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (about 9 oz)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (about 6 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles
  • Pinch sea salt flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Arrange pretzel hearts for easy access.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semisweet chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth (about 1-2 minutes). Repeat with white chocolate chips and remaining coconut oil in a separate bowl. Alternatively, melt chocolate gently over low heat on the stovetop.
  3. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each pretzel heart halfway into the melted chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off, then place on the lined baking sheet. For a thicker coating, double-dip after the first layer sets for about 2 minutes.
  4. While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle each pretzel heart generously with festive sprinkles. Work quickly so sprinkles stick.
  5. Optional: Drizzle white chocolate over dipped pretzels for a contrasting finish.
  6. Let pretzel hearts sit at room temperature until chocolate is set (about 20-30 minutes), or refrigerate for 10 minutes if needed.
  7. Once set, gently lift pretzels off parchment and serve. Broken pieces can be used for snacking or as ice cream toppings.

Notes

For gluten-free or dairy-free versions, use gluten-free pretzels and dairy-free chocolate chips. Add coconut oil for glossy, smooth chocolate. Sprinkles must be added while chocolate is wet for best adhesion. Double-dip for a thicker chocolate coating. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for up to 10 days. Freeze for longer storage.
